Abstract

This Dissertation-in-Praxis addresses the pressing need for financial literacy within church communities by developing a faith-based financial education program tailored for Reignited Worship Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the abundance of biblical teachings on stewardship, many churches and their members experience chronic financial instability, limiting ministry effectiveness and personal well-being. The praxis project identifies a gap between theological understanding and practical financial management among African American congregants, exacerbated by systemic economic challenges and limited educational resources. Guided by biblical principles and a holistic ministry approach, this study proposes a comprehensive program integrating scriptural stewardship with practical financial tools. The initiative includes workshops, resource development, online platforms, and a train-the-trainer model to empower both leaders and members. The desired outcomes include increased financial literacy, reduced debt, consistent tithing, and a culture of generosity aligned with the church’s mission. Through transformative learning and spiritual formation, the program seeks to foster financial wellness and discipleship, positioning the church as both a theological and practical resource for economic empowerment. This praxis bridges theology and application, aiming to create lasting spiritual and financial impact within the faith community.
