Abstract

The problem at Christian Fellowship Church in Anguilla is the high rate of biblical illiteracy due to the lack of trained leaders to preach and teach the Word effectively. The purpose of this action research project is to train and develop five leaders to preach and teach the Word effectively. If leaders are trained and developed to preach and teach the Word effectively, the biblical literacy of the CFC membership will increase. The goal of this leadership training is to create a cadre of leaders who will be qualified to preach and teach the Word. During the action research, the five leaders will also teach focus groups of ten participants and, in the future, train and develop other leaders to continue ministry work. During the implementation of the action research, the five leaders will develop skills for studying the Word, preparing lessons and sermons, and effective delivery in focus groups. The research data will be collected using multiple investigative methods, including questionnaires, interviews, surveys, and focus groups, to ensure triangulation, allowing for cross-checking of the data's accuracy. The analyzed data will show that the findings do support the project thesis. The results of this action research can help contribute to academia by reinforcing the need for church leaders to be adequately trained and developed to teach and preach the Word effectively. However, further research on how to improve biblical literacy among believers must be conducted.
