Description

Research Problem Statement The research problem of my project was to create an animated video using real images and mix realistic with 2d cartoon animation to make it relatable. The problems that I ran into were learning the Photoshop animation software, and creating an engaging and clear story plot that had a Christ-centered message. Communication Objective My communication objective was to show the viewer that even though everyone goes through difficult and painful things in life, God always has a plan and will use those painful things for our good. I also wanted to communicate a clear and flawless story that was obvious to the viewer that even though you go through hard times, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t going to be a bright ending. Visual Solution I had to look up a few tutorials while making my animation. I was new to the photoshop software and it had a learning curve that I needed to get the hang of. I decided to make my animation about a sunflower that hates the water. This concept was a good analogy for people everywhere. We love when it’s sunny in our lives and easy, but when it gets dark and rainy we have a difficult time trusting that God has us in our troubles. While the sunflower hates being watered, it is also vital for the sunflower to grow. Just like us! How it was Produced I started with a storyboard, because I didn’t want to mess up and have to animate everything twice. I went online to find free images for the background and the watering can. I went on youtube to find a timelapse video of a sunflower, then I stopped the video and took pictures every 4 seconds for the opening of the sunflower. I then placed the background image in photoshop along with the basic sunflower image, and started to animate and draw. I moved the flower frame by frame, animating the face and the tears as I went along. Then I did the same thing with the watering can and moved it in, and out. The opening of the flower was the hardest part, just because there were so many frames to move and screenshots to take. Then I put everything into a photo editing software and added music, titles and credits.
