About This Journal

Liberty University’s Journal for Law and Government (JLG) fills a unique niche in Christian scholarship. Published by the Helms School of Government’s Center for Law and Government, this peer-review journal advances the literature, theory, and philosophy of law, government, policy, and related fields from a Biblical perspective.

Guiding Themes

Therefore, our journal welcomes submissions in the following areas:

  • Discussions of various facets of political philosophy
  • Generation of political theory and concepts from a Biblical perspective
  • Theory generation, testing, and application in the fields of political science, public policy and administration, criminal justice, international relations, national security, etc.
  • Policy studies and issues from conceptual and empirical perspectives
  • Discussion related to legal theory, jurisprudence, etc.

The Journal of Law and Government is designed to provide Christian scholars an accepting and safe venue to share their work and views. Submissions should endeavor to move beyond mere theological reflection to the actual creation, evaluation, and testing of theory. Philosophical and conceptual discussions are welcomed and should reflect peer-reviewed discussion of relevant theory and Biblical exposition.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God.” -Romans 12:2
