Submission Requirements/Guidelines of Insights: The Liberty University Journal of Modern Languages:
We welcome original submissions in French and Spanish from current and recently graduated students.
- Essays: 1,000-10,000 words
- Translations: 200-7,500 words
- Poetry: Maximum of 250 lines
- Short Story: Maximum of 2,500 words
- Reviews: Maximum of 1,000 words
Submission Process and Review:
- Students may submit in response to a Call for Papers or faculty may recommend superior student work for submission. In either case, there will be mentoring as part of the submission/revision process.
- Revisions will be blind
- An editorial board will review all submissions.
- Works will then be treated in one of the following ways:
- Accepted
- Tentative
- Rejected
- When a work is accepted, an email will be sent to the author to notify her/him, and the message will also indicate the status of acceptance. In any case where a work requires revision, the board will give specific feedback to assist the author and/or mentor.
- If a work is rejected the author will be informed as well.
- Authors of published works do not forfeit copyright. If they choose, at a later time, to publish the work in another journal, they will be allowed, though they must also notify the current board. The current board will then remove the work in question and replace it with a message that the work has been removed in order to be published elsewhere, and a link to that new journal will accompany the message.
