Abstract
This thesis research project asserts that evangelizing the unchurched is essential to being an effective disciple of the Lord’s kingdom. Mt. Zion’s participants must have a heart for sharing the gospel with people outside of their church environment, and evangelizing those in their local community is a great start. Mt. Zion’s evangelism focus has slipped into the background of everything else, and the researcher created an evangelistic training class (ETC) to teach willing participants at Mt. Zion electric shock evangelism to shock their hearts into the rhythm of sharing the gospel. This spiritually healthy regiment will benefit those who witness to unbelievers in their local community the love of Christ and His saving grace. The methodology consisted of an eight-week evangelism training class to teach spiritual principles and disciplines that would educate the participants on the importance of evangelism and the role each believer plays in building the Lord’s kingdom. The researcher also showed a video titled How to Share the Gospel by Tony Evans and allowed time for role-play with the participants. The last week was set aside to teach six evangelism myths. The research included a pre-ETC survey, a pre-ETC questionnaire, a SWOT analysis, and a post-ETC questionnaire. This research project contains information that will benefit churches seeking to revive declining evangelism.
