Abstract

The purpose of this study is to emphasize the need for and importance of an intensive Bible study ministry in church and to suggest specific alternatives by studying the effect of church planting and revival through a Bible Academy in a Korean church. Church growth in South Korea has long since accompanied Bible study ministry. Sadly, Korean churches in the 21st century have been experiencing a slowdown and downturn in growth. Though there may be a variety of causes, the absence of a systematic and ongoing Bible study is one of them. This study is focused on providing a Bible study model that can be applied to church planting and growth in South Korea by using Bible study materials from other churches and using the results of the Bible Academy conducted for the last eight years at Jeju Together Church. In this study, the researcher will present an effective model of Bible study to Korean churches and convey to Korean pastors that Bible study through a Bible Academy can have a direct impact on church growth.
