Philosophy of Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal

Who Can Submit?
Current residential and online undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty may submit an original article to be considered for publication in Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).
General Submission Rules
Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic). Please note: "publication" in a working-paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal. Formatting Requirements
Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal publishes research articles, book reviews, original research, etc.
- Research article (Original or Review) submissions should be between 10 and 20 pages of double-spaced content.
- Reflections papers could be between 5-7 pages.
- Book review submissions should be between 3-4 pages of double spaced-spaced content.
WCTLJ accepts manuscripts addressing:
- Current issues and clinical topics in nursing
- Academic/pedagogical topics in nursing (Faculty)
- Nursing education (for students and/or educators)
- Original research or research reviews
- Service learning/ missions
- Transcultural topics
- Case studies
- Historical or theoretical or ethical issues
- Faith-based and spiritual care
- Evidence-based practice or quality improvement projects
Manuscripts should include a biblical, Christian perspective.
All submissions should be made using the online submission system
Upon initial submission to Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal, authors should have their articles formatted in current American Psychological Association (APA) format with 1-inch margins. Submissions should be double-spaced with 12-point Times New Roman font. For the peer review process, please submit the title and abstract in the submission form only. Do not include them with the main text. The body of the manuscript should contain a reference page (and tables, and figures if applicable). Additionally, there are further rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Rights for Authors and Scholars Crossing
As further described in our submission agreement (the Submission Agreement), in consideration for publication of the article, the authors retain all copyright in the article.
Permission to Reuse Content
All requests for permission to reuse content published in Wisdom & Compassion: The LUSON Journal should be emailed to the editors.
General Terms and Conditions of Use
Users of the Scholars Crossing website and/or software agree not to misuse the Scholars Crossing service or software in any way.
The failure of Scholars Crossing to exercise or enforce any right or provision in the policies or the Submission Agreement does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any term of the Submission Agreement or these policies is found to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Submission Agreement and these policies remain in full force and effect. These policies and the Submission Agreement constitute the entire agreement between Scholars Crossing and the Author(s) regarding submission of the Article.
