Description

Aedes albopictus is an invasive mosquito species and an important disease vector, making the development of effective control strategies critical. Chemical insecticides, such as deltamethrin, are widely used to reduce mosquito populations. However, their extensive use has raised concerns about the development of resistance, especially following sublethal deltamethrin exposure in the larval stage. We hypothesize that larval exposure to deltamethrin at a nonlethal dose can result in pesticide resistance in adult mosquitoes, and through that the undelying mechanisms can be explored by analyzing transcriptomic profile to characterize gene expression patterns.
