Abstract

Trauma has become part of the human experience. It is a result of human sin that cannot be extinguished. However, God has provided many outlets that provide a way for trauma to be redeemed. One such outlet is the literary genre of memoir. Through the writing of memoir, authors are able to make sense of their trauma, and to experience growth through that understanding. This paper will explore this concept of post-traumatic growth as a redemptive gift.
