Description
History has shown a unique set of challenges faced by every era. The anthropological problem of life, which is caused by the economic perception of life, is one of the main challenges of the Contemporary Era. This challenge is a perennial problem of humans’ struggle to understand the essence of life and live it according to its design. This economic perception of life distorts the understanding of life’s true essence, leading to a disconnection from spiritual truths and meaning. This challenge makes it difficult for individuals to see the reality of the gospel and accept the truth of the gospel. This research aims to address the anthropological problem of life in the Contemporary Era using epistemological existentialism. It argues against the economic perception of life, which is materialistic, in favor of the ontological perception of life, which is Christocentric. Drawing on the philosophical and theological frameworks of Søren Kierkegaard and Cornelius Van Til, the research examines the disconnect between the materialistic (economic) perception of life and a deeper, Christocentric (ontological) perception of life. The research posits that the economic perception of life, rooted in materialism, distorts human nature and diverts individuals from their true purpose. In contrast, the Christocentric (ontological) perception of life offers a comprehensive view of human life, grounded in divine purpose and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
