• Research Problem Statement Waste has become second nature for most nowadays, leading to a growing environmental crisis. As a result, this project's research problem was to explore various ways of recycling using trash people often throw away as a means of creation. One such method is creating a sculpture using this medium. • Communication Objective My communication objective was to create a character that looked like it was made out of trash to inspire others to imagine the possibilities of unwanted materials. And encourage more recycling amongst my peers. • Visual Solution To solve my problems, I started to collect trash around my house and school and work to gather enough supplies to create my sculpture. The key elements are some old clay, popsicle sticks, zip ties, and a bicycle helmet. • How it was Produced This sculpture proved to be more of a challenge than I initially thought, and I often wanted to buy specific items. And while I did buy my wooden base, everything else I either already had or found lying around. My final sculpture used Sculpey clay, wire, sewing parts, rip-off legos, coffee stirrers, popsicle sticks, and some resin. I began this project how I usually would for a sculpture but going around and about looking for parts I could use was difficult, and I even had to change some design elements to cope.
