Description

Research Problem Statement The research problem of my project was to create a painting that illustrated to the viewer how addictive fast food items have become. In this day and age, almost everyone eats fast food, and almost everyone knows that it’s not the healthiest thing for them to have. I wanted to create something that makes people view fast food in a different light, while still looking like a “safe” fast food meal. Communication Objective My communication objective was to share with the viewer that fast food is not always what they think it is. I want to show the viewer that yes fast food looks amazing, but there are warning signs spelled out right in front of our eyes. Visual Solution I decided to take a graffiti approach to my art this time. By creating a realistic burger out of graffiti letters that spell danger in plain english. This will show the viewer the hidden dangers that many people have of getting addicted to fast food. How it was Produced I started off with pictures of burgers, fris, and a drink. I then drew an outline of them and tried my best to fill up the outline with words that I had chosen to give the viewer a clear message that even though the fast food looked good, it was still harmful to eat. I put a background color on the canvas, and then I transferred the drawing to the canvas and started to paint over the outline. Once I had good basic colors, I came back in with shadows and more colors to add dimension.
