Abstract

A house with a weak foundation will inevitably fall. Foundations are essential to the rise and longevity of everything built. From architecture to ideas, governments are no different. They need strong foundations to guide laws and to shape the nation’s future. America’s foundation is its Constitution; it is the cornerstone for the Liberty American citizens enjoy and the Justice system that maintains law and order, it outlines what the founding fathers desired for the country, laying down the framework for the rights of citizens for generations to come. Every law must align with the Constitution as it continues to provide a reliable foundation. The current political trend, however, is weakening the Constitution and failing to keep a strong foundation for the law to rest on, leading toward collapse, as proven by other societies. If America does not return to valuing the importance of strengthening its Constitutional foundation, it will find itself victim to that same fate. For Liberty to continue to be enjoyed and Justice to prevail, the focus must return to the maintaining and the furthering of the strong foundation the Constitution provides. America earned its status as a global powerhouse from the strength of the Constitution, weakening it will only lead to the decline of the once-strong country.
