Abstract

The Holy Scriptures were treated as the final authority by Luther, Calvin, and Edwards.Luther and Calvin were the main influences during the Reformation in the 16th century. Jonathan Edwards was a major influence during the 18th century as he progressed reformed theology in the church. Luther, Calvin, and Edwards held Scripture in highest authority with the understanding of justification by faith, and held firm to the Word of God as infallible.
