Millennials Just Need to Know Their Place
Abstract
Most adults born before the millennial generation can readily identify the main problems plaguing millennials: narcissism, immaturity, and selfishness. Some adults have responded to these negative traits with derision and still others with firm and loving admonitions, yet whatever form this response has taken, it has been falling on deaf ears. Millennials often simply respond: “you just don’t understand.” This retort has become something of a joke, but is there perhaps substance to it after all? And what exactly is causing the disconnect between millennials and older generations? Why can’t millennials simply be humble and know their place? This essay seeks to answer questions such as these.
